LMJ Scholarship 2024-2025

Is it your aspiration to neture your academic and professional career in law? Then the LMJ scholarship program is once again giving out opportunity to candidates who wish to study law on scholarship to apply for this scholarship opportunity.
The LMJ scholarship which was established in the year 2004 and through its scholarship program awarded their first scholarship in 2005, is a diversity pipeline program that seeks to nurture the academic and professional careers of outstanding law students. The scholarship however is open to men and women in general who have been accepted to study law by meeting all the requirements of the scholarship program.

LMJ Scholarship Requirement

The following are the requirements a candidate needs to have:
• ABA-accredited law school on a full-time BASIS
• An outstanding or promising academic record
• An interest in corporate law
• Demonstrated community service and leadership qualities
• A financial need
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity

 

Eligibility Criteria for LMJ Scholarship

An applicants must meet all the following criteria to be eligible:
• An applicant’s Proof of acceptance into an ABA-accredited U.S. law school for a full-time Juris Doctorate Program (Fall 2024)
• An undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
• 2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form
• An interest in corporate law, including an interest in working in a corporate law department and/or law firm
• An interest in diversity, equity and inclusion
• An applicants demonstrated community service and leadership qualities

 

Selection Criteria in Accessing LMJ Scholarship

An independent selection committee will evaluate the complete applications and select recipients considering the following:
• Applicants financial need
• Candidates’ community involvement
• Essay content
• Applicants’ academic achievements and records

Benefits of LMJ Scholarship

• The LMJ Scholarship grants scholarships of $10,000 to students for their first year of law school
• LMJ scholars are connected with peers, alumni, and mentors, who are available to provide professional support, such as guidance on addressing academic or personal obstacles that arise over the course of their legal careers.
