University of Hong Kong Scholarships 2024-2025

University of Hong Kong has opened its scholarship program for 2024-2025. Applicants are hereby advice to read carefully for their kind attention on this blog for all processes in applying. University of Hong Kong offers a broad range of merit-based scholarships that support outstanding undergraduate students with one-off payments and provide renewable financial assistance for tuition and living expenses.

The University of Hong Kong Scholarships aim is to give deserving students from all over the world access to a top-quality education that opens doors globally, regardless of means or background. candidates only need to pay a fraction of the cost of education in Hong Kong, even though University of Hong Kong educational standards are at an international level.

List of University of Hong Kong Scholarships:

1. HKU Foundation Scholarship for President’s Scholars

The scholarship shall be awarded to the most outstanding newly admitted undergraduate students each year
APPLICATION: No application is required. Eligible Students are automatically considered.
TOTAL SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: Up to full tuition fees plus living expenses

2. Jardine HKU Scholarship

The Jardine HKU Scholarship is newly established to be awarded annually with the aim of supporting access to further education by local students who are financially in need, in order to nurture local talents to be future leaders who will give back to their community.
TOTAL SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: HKD90,000

3. HKU Foundation Scholarships for International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Students

Students admitted to HKU’s undergraduate program who achieve 45 in IB Diploma will be eligible for a scholarship to cover full tuition fee. For students who achieve 44 and upon receiving a firm offer, they will be eligible for a scholarship to cover a half-tuition fee. Eligible students will be shortlisted and nominated for the selection committee’s consideration on a rolling basis.
APPLICATION: No application is required. Eligible Students are automatically considered.

4: HKU Foundation Scholarships for GCE A-Level and International Advanced Level Qualified Students

Students admitted to HKU’s undergraduate programmes who achieve 5A* for GCE A-Level or International A-Level qualifications will be eligible for a scholarship to cover full tuition fee. For students who achieve 4A*, a holistic evaluation will take place to consider their eligibility for a scholarship, and successful candidates will receive scholarship details in their application portal. Eligible students will be shortlisted and nominated for the selection committee’s consideration on a rolling basis. The subjects should be taken in one academic year (September to August) and should not include language subjects.
APPLICATION: No application is required. Eligible Students are automatically considered.

5. HKU Foundation Scholarships for Outstanding Students (Other Qualifications Holders)

This merit-based scholarship recognizes outstanding students newly
admitted to HKU’s undergraduate programmes or university collaborative programmes. Eligible students will be shortlisted and nominated for the selection committee’s consideration on a rolling basis.

6. The Faculty of Architecture Scholarship for Architecture Students

This merit-based scholarship was established to attract the best students to apply for admission into the undergraduate program under the Department of Architecture. The Scholarship shall be awarded to the deserving students, based on academic merit, who have been offered admission into the BA(AS) or BASc (Design+) Programme. The number and exact value of the scholarships to be awarded each year shall be determined by the Selection Committee, based on the academic merit of eligible students and funding available at the time.

7. Barry Will Memorial Entrance Scholarship

In honor of the late Professor Barry Fegan Will, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture from 1990 to 1998, the Scholarship was established to award top applicants for the BA(AS) program

Eligibility criteria:

Scholarships are awarded annually to first year-undergraduates on the basis of high academic achievements, rigor of studies, interview performance and other key personal experiences that would improve the student’s background.

Application Process

Application requires submitting an online form as well as the addition of a 300-word essay detailing the student’s experience and commitment towards creating an ‘impact’. Further information can be found on the scholarship web page.
