1. Dean’s scholarship
Dean’s Scholarships are intended to attract high-caliber students to the University of Saskatchewan. These awards will be offered to students who have outstanding academic records, show research promise and are registering for the first time in a thesis or dissertation-based graduate program.
Value:
Master’s: $18,000 per year for two years (department/supervisor is required to fund the seconds year at the same level of support)
Doctoral: $22,000 for per year for three years plus tuition (department/supervisor is required to fund the third year at the same level of support)

2. University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarships
The University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship (UGS) is open to students in select departments only. New and continuing students in acceptable academic standing must be nominated by their departments.
Value: Master’s: $16,000 per year for up to two years; Ph.D.: $20,000 per year for up to three years.
3. Teacher-Scholar Doctoral Fellowships
Teacher-Scholar Doctoral Fellowships (TSDF), in partnership with the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning, are awarded through a university-wide competition to doctoral students in the 2nd to 5th year of their program, who have successfully completed their Ph.D. comprehensive exam by August 31st of the year applications are being considered. The fellowship duration is one year. Successful recipients receive training in university teaching and will deliver a course under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
Value: $21,000 over one year, less employee deductions.
4. University of Saskatchewan Graduate Teaching Assistantships
Students are hired by their academic units to assist with teaching and marking courses. New and continuing students should write to the Graduate Chair of the academic department to indicate their interest in being considered for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA).
Graduate employment offers are made by departments and colleges. Positions are in scope of the Public Service Alliance of Canada Local 40004, payable at union rates of pay, less mandatory employment deductions.
5. University of Saskatchewan Graduate Research Assistantships
Faculty members holding research funding may have research opportunities available to graduate students. New and continuing students should contact faculty members doing research in their area of interest to ask about possible Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) opportunities. Students should be prepared to provide full information on their experience in the field.
Graduate employment offers are made by departments and colleges. Positions are in scope of the Public Service Alliance of Canada Local 40004, payable at union rates of pay, less mandatory employment deductions.
All master’s, doctoral, graduate certificate and postgraduate diploma students apply online, but the application procedures can vary between programs.
