University College London Scholarships for Postgraduate Programs
To postgraduate students, University College London offers scholarships in partnership with organizations such as British Council. At present, there are 31 University College London scholarships available to international students commencing doctorate and masters’ programs at University College London.
Out of the 31 scholarships, Indian students are entitled to only 3 scholarship programs, namely, Commonwealth Scholarships, Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, and British Chevening Scholarships. All these scholarships offer varying benefits including tuition fees and stipend to cover travel and accommodation in the UK.
Details of all these University College London scholarships are given below:
• Chevening Scholarship: Available to both graduate taught and graduate research students, Chevening Scholarship program recognizes outstanding students and potential leaders from across the world.
o Benefits: The university offers a 20% tuition fee waiver
o Eligibility: At least 65% in previous qualification; IELTS score 6.5+ or equivalent; 2+ years of work experience
o Application Process: Completion of a country-specific scholarship application.
• Commonwealth UK Scholarships: The scholarship program is designed to support students belonging to commonwealth countries such as Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, etc.
o Benefits: Thesis grant, tuition fees, travel expenses; monthly expenses.
o Eligibility: 65% in science & 60% in Social Science; below 40 years of age; member of eligible country for Commonwealth scholarships
o Application Process: Applications to be made via National Nominating agency.
• Commonwealth Shared Scholarship: Applicable to the students, from commonwealth countries, commencing master’s degree in UK.
o Benefits: Tuition fees, approved airfare, living expenses, thesis grant
o Eligibility: above 75% in previous academic qualifications; not sponsored; citizen for Commonwealth countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh.
o Application Process: Complete the Commonwealth Shared scholarship application before December 18.
University College London Scholarships for International Students
1. Bartlett Promise Undergraduate Scholarships
• Scholarship Amount: Full Tuition, Annual Living Stipend
• Degrees Offered: Undergraduate
Offered only to ten applicants, the Bartlett Promise Undergraduate Scholarship is probably the most prestigious award given to international undergraduates. Based on academic merit and financial need, this scholarship award was established by University College London to fund the academic studies of talented individuals.
Because of its prestigious benefits, the entry requirements for this University College London scholarship can be quite strict. If you are an international applicant, make sure to check the eligibility criteria first, and if you do meet all the scholarship requirements, then go to the section for scholarship application to start the application process.
2. Bartlett Promise Master’s Scholarship

Since this award is given out by the same establishment, the award criteria are the same, which means that the Barlett Scholarship Council will give out the awards based on academic merit, financial need, and personal considerations.
