About Chevening Scholarship

Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarships programme. This programme is Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations, they offer awards to study in the UK for one year on a fully funded master’s degree course.

The Chevening Scholarship Includes the Following:

university tuition fees
a monthly stipend
travel costs to and from the UK
an arrival allowance

the cost of one visa application
a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK

The Chevening Scholarship Application Timeline for 2026-2027

Chevening Scholars are selected within a minimum of eight months from the application deadline to when applicants are conditionally selected for an award. Below is the timeline for Chevening Scholarship 2026-2027

Application opens on 5 August 2025 at 12:00 BST
The deadline for applications is 7 October 2025 at 12:00 UTC/GMT
Applications are sifted against eligibility criteria From October 2025
Then, Independent reading committees assess all eligible applications from Mid-October 2025 to January 2026
Applicants are shortlisted for interviews on Mid-February 2026
The references and education documents deadline is March to April 2026
Interviews take place from March to April 2026
Then, Mid-June 2026, results are announced
The deadline to receive and submit at least one unconditional UK university offer is 17:00 BST (UK time) on 9 July 2026.
Chevening Scholars commence their studies in the UK in September/October 2026

How to Apply for Fully Funded Chevening Scholarship 2026-2027

The Chevening Scholarship Application 2026-2027 is basically online. All Chevening applications must be submitted through the online application system (OAS). The system will be used throughout the application and selection process, and you will be asked to log back in at any time during the process to receive updates on your application status, or to submit documents.

To Apply online, follow the steps below:

Go to Google Chrome web browser using a laptop or PC.
Enter the URL, https://www.chevening.org/ in your browser
Then, press the enter key on your keyboard
When the page opens, Click on the “Apply” tab at the top menu of the page
Read the Scholarship instructions and proceed
Select your country/territory and the type of awards
Read carefully about the awards
Then, Scroll down and click on the online application system
When the page opens, fill out the online application form with your details
When completing your application form, work in a full-sized window.
Enter information accurately, especially your contact details. Please ensure that you enter a valid email address.
The application form may take some time to complete, so consider preparing your answers offline and then pasting them into the online form later
Answer the application questions. Answers that are less than 100 words will not be considered.
Save as you go!
You do not have to complete the form in one session. Use the ‘Logout’ button (top right corner of the page) and keep a note of your username and password so that you can come back and finish off your application later.
Complete and submit your application. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Please, take note: Only submit your application once you are completely satisfied with it. You can only submit one application and we will only accept your first application.
