The mission of the Boston College University Fellowships Committee is to support undergraduate research and to encourage and assist Boston College undergraduates in competing for the most notable of undergraduate and graduate fellowships and scholarships—the Rhodes, Fulbright, Marshall, Churchill, Truman, and many others. These prestigious fellowships are not only rewarding in themselves, but they can also open up opportunities and grant a distinction that could transform your life.
This article highlights all the details that are needed in availing the scholarship by applicants.
To apply for the Scholarship, you must be a Boston resident for at least two years at the date of application.
The scholarship is for new and current college students and continuing education students who plan to attend a post-secondary school in Massachusetts. By the time Boxton College Scholarships are awarded, you must have either:
• graduated from high school, or
• completed a GED program.
New College Students
• Applicant need to plan to enroll as a full-time student in a two-year or four-year university or college in Massachusetts.
Current College Students
• Applicant need to be enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year or four-year university or college in Massachusetts
Continuing Education Students
• Applicant must plan to enroll in undergraduate classes at a two or four-year university, an accredited trade school, or a vocational school in Massachusetts.
Applicant should please note that this is a need-based Scholarship, and all candidates will remain eligible as long as they remain in good academic standing with the university and still demonstrate financial need.
As a private institution, Boston College’s rates for tuition are the same for both in-state and out-of-state residents. You can see the most current tuition rates on the BC financial aid website.
The majority of BC financial aid is dedicated to their need-based financial aid program. This is how BC is able to meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for every single student who is admitted.
Boston College offers only one merit scholarship program (the majority of their financial aid is dedicated to need-based aid). While small in the number of awards, the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program is very generous. Each Presidential Scholar receives a full tuition merit scholarship at Boston College (regardless of financial need). Each year, Boston College awards 15 students the Presidential Scholarship Program (PSP).
No, students just apply to BC under the Early Action application process.
